These terms do not alter the separate written engagement terms that are provided to clients when a matter is formally opened. In the event of any inconsistency, the written engagement terms for your specific matter will take precedence.

2. Nature of Our Services

Pattaya Family provides family law advice and representation in Thailand, with particular experience in matters involving international clients. Our services include, but are not limited to:

• Family matters consultations for individuals seeking initial legal guidance
• Counsel and representation for clients considering or proceeding with the dissolution of a marriage under Thai law
• Representation for clients seeking to negotiate and document a formal family settlement

All services are subject to the terms of any written engagement agreed with the client prior to work commencing. No work is carried out on a client's behalf without a clear understanding of the instructions and scope.

3. Website Use

This website is provided for general information purposes. The content on these pages describes our services and our approach, and is not intended to constitute legal advice in respect of any specific situation. Every family matter is different, and the information on this website should not be relied upon as a substitute for individual legal advice.

5. Fees and Payment

Our current service fees are set out on our Solutions page. These fees are indicative and represent our standard charges for each service type. Fees for individual matters may vary depending on the complexity and scope of the work required, and any variation will be agreed with you in writing before work begins.

Payment terms are specified in the engagement letter for each matter. We reserve the right to pause or conclude work on a matter where fees have not been settled in accordance with the agreed terms.

All fees are denominated in Thai Baht (THB). We do not charge VAT on our legal services to individual clients, though we reserve the right to review this in accordance with applicable Thai tax law.

6. Confidentiality

We treat all information shared with us by clients and prospective clients as confidential. We do not discuss client matters with third parties without the client's consent, except where required by law or by order of a competent court.

Our confidentiality obligations continue after the conclusion of any matter and after any termination of engagement.

7. Professional Standards

Pattaya Family operates in accordance with the professional standards applicable to legal practice in Thailand. Our counsel are subject to the rules of their respective professional bodies and to the obligations imposed by Thai law on legal practitioners.

Where a conflict of interest arises or is identified in the course of a matter, we will notify you promptly and take appropriate steps in accordance with our professional obligations.

8. Limitation of Liability

Our liability to clients is limited to the scope of the written engagement for each matter. We do not accept liability for outcomes that depend on the decision of a court, registrar, or other authority; nor for the conduct, decisions, or representations of any other party involved in a matter.

We do not accept liability for any loss arising from reliance on general information published on this website, as this information is not provided as legal advice for specific circumstances.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, or any liability that cannot be excluded under Thai law.
